Dr. Viral Kothari

Dr. Kothari was born and raised in Houston, Texas, and has dedicated his career to improving respiratory and sleep health in children. After completing fellowships in both pediatric pulmonary and sleep medicine at Texas Children’s Hospital, he brought his expertise to West Virginia University’s academic quaternary care children’s hospital, where he helped re-establish and grow its pediatric pulmonary and sleep medicine division as an assistant professor.
Now serving as the founder and leader of Pediatric Sleep Specialists (PSS), Dr. Kothari has developed a comprehensive care model focused on helping patients sleep better and live better. His approach emphasizes sustainable improvements in sleep and overall health, reflecting his belief in empowering families with knowledge and support.
To help meet the growing demand for pediatric sleep care, Dr. Kothari created a pediatric nurse practitioner training program and is actively working to enhance training for local sleep lab technologists — initiatives that ensure quality, accessible care for more families.
Dr. Kothari is passionate about working with children, inspired by their resilience and strength in the face of medical challenges. He finds joy in mentoring trainees at PSS and seeing the meaningful difference their care makes in the lives of children and their families.
When Dr. Kothari is not busy serving his patients and staff at PSS, you can find him spending quality time with his family and friends, teaching his kids how to play sports or planning his next family vacation.

Dr. Justin Brockbank

Dr. Brockbank grew up in the Washington, D.C. area, completed his undergrad at BYU and then attended medical school in Richmond, VA at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. He completed fellowships in pediatric pulmonology and sleep medicine at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. He was an assistant professor at The Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU within the division of Pediatric Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine, and director of the pediatric sleep program for 8 years. During his last three years there, they opened the first sleep lab exclusively used for conducting pediatric sleep studies in all of central Virginia.

Dr. Brockbank works directly with the advanced practice providers to provide sleep medicine care to our patients and performs sleep study interpretation. He loves working with children because of their resilience and how quickly they can adapt and change. It’s very rewarding to see children function better and to have families live happier, healthier lives when their children sleep better.

When he is not working, he spends his time with his family cheering them on at their sporting events, doing yard work, volunteering as a scout leader in his son’s troop, and trying new restaurants with his wife and friends.
